Henry with the Prussing family on day one

Proud Uncle Hank and Nana are anxious to hold and soothe!

What a great cousin Kate is already!                   Max looking so happy for us!
I remember holding her just like this                                             Thanks Max!
when she was Henry's age!                                                              !!

What fun it has been to have Kate here so close to us - in Baltimore!

First day pics

Welcome baby Henry! His first day in the outside world.

The moment we saw Carrie after her delivery!

What an amazing experience to meet and have such a connection with Carrie, the birthmother. We stayed up with her through part of her delivery, we were able to talk with her a lot in the coming 2 days we stayed in the hospital before we left with Henry, and she even met some of my family in the hospital as well. For her to know what kind of family Henry would grow up in, meet grandparents, and uncle and niece, was a good thing for her and for us as well I think. She's an amazing person and I'm so happy to know her in my life. Thank you so much for the gift of life, Carrie!

Minutes old!

...just minutes old! Look at that great pink skin and big belly button! 6 lbs and 18 inches of miracle!

Pre-Henry

After only a few hours sleep, we were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the little one! Can you believe that with one push, he was born?! Right at 12 noon... We were able to hear the first cries of Henry through the door, and entered 5 minutes later to see a beautiful, pink, healthy, crying baby boy!!

Pre-Henry

In the waiting room overnight before Henry came to greet us in this world!

This night I stayed up all night writing things down that I didn't want to forget about the moment...I was sooo excited about the prospect of actually becoming a mother for the first time and everything was surreal. Even 4 months later it still feels surreal but not quite to this extent as right before Henry came into this world. I was overwhelmed with the thoughts of what Carrie, our birthmother was doing for us and after 2 years of waiting, it was finally about to happen for us. What an amazing journey...
